Remonster, you need to give me a budget for the heaphones. When you're discussing audio, saying "the best" will cost more than you can afford. Give me a rough estimate of how much you're willing to spend on a heaphone amplifier and heaphones and I can refer some to you.

I have the fatality fps x-fi and I love it. I used to have an audigy 2 zs. It definitely sounds sweet.

And you may think that most creative speakers sound like poo, and I'll agree with you 100% on that, but I have that s750 set and it sounds uber. In fact, if you look at reviews on the net, it's the best speaker system by reviewers. The only thing that comes close to it by people or reviewers is the 5.1 klipsch you mentioned. But usually they give the vote to the 7.1 b/c you get the same great quality sound with 2 extra speakers which is great for games like the CoD series.

My buddy uses those logitech speakers in his living room for dvd movies. They're awesome. Sick bass and great balance. The control unit has lots of options too.
