Problem & Question regarding memory

Thread Starter
i have 2x512mb patriot Ram modules that are running dual channel @ 533Mhz. My question is, would I be able to get another pair of 512mb ram modules OF A DIFFERENT BRAND(cuz they dont make my orginial ram modules anymore) that run dual channel @ 533mhz also and combine them with mine right now?
for example:
2 512mb patriot ram in DIMM slots 1 and 3,
2 512mb (whatever brand ram with same specs) in DIMM slots 2 and 4

thanks in advance!

As long as you match up the DIMMs in each bank of memory, you should have no problems running dual channel. It should work particularly well, especially since you're planning on matching specs even if you go with a different manufacturer.

I agree. The only thing is that your timings are limited to your crappiest memory chip for a lack of a better word.
