Hello everyone,

Never built a rig before and i'm ready to dive in with an i7 build. This rig is mainly for gaming use which i would prefer to have crossfire or sli. Any suggestions or changes to my build that i should take into consideration. As i wrote earlier this is my first build ever so i welcome any experience ideas.

Here it is

Case-- LIAN LI Lancool PC-K62
CPU-- Intel Core i7-920
Mobo-- Asus Rampage II GENE
Ram-- CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Cooler-- CORSAIR Cooling Hydro Series CWCH50
PSU-- CORSAIR CMPSU-850HX 850W
GPU-- Two 5770 in Crossfire

Total cost around $1,400 Already own monitor, keyboard etc etc. What's your thoughts

Thanks...

Looks good but get Prolimatech Meghalem instead.

EDIT: why are you going with a matx board, go with this one and you have space for more cards, or this one with more space for sound cards and other stuff

Well, in this one particular case that all in one W/C kit rivals the high end coolers (i.E. mega and TRUE)

The reviews on the egg kinda made me shy away from this board and for the extra card issue, I really cant think of anything else i would want to put there because the on-board sound is decent enough but i shall give it some thought.

Also on newegg is doesn't say anything about sli support just in case i decide to go the nvidia route one day

http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling...50-battle.html

You can see the H50 is not much worse then the Megahalem in this test, it impressed me. So if you would prefer it to a large air cooled tower heat sink then go for it.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with your build, Great case, cpu, psu and mobo.

No, this pic proves high end air coolers are better than that corsair watercooling kit. Source
