Like the title said this 3.2 775 540 is bottlenecking the heck out of my new XFX 7800GT only getting 7519 in 3DMark05....any suggestions on a new CPU?

What are you're settings at, we should at least be able to get 3.8 out of that chip easy.

That score is at 3.8 but on the bright side even at 3.8 my load never goes above 38C

something else is wrong.....at least thats what i'd say. something along those lines don't "bottleneck" each other. hell, you're referring to the wrong type of bottleneck anyways, where it describes the slowest part of your computer. in this case its not your proc or your video card, and don't look to be the ram. what voltage are you running your ram? why ddr2? and are you using it at its max performance, or just at ddr400?

Well if you're temps are still good, I'd go for 4.0GHz. Bring that 540 up to EE specs and you should be doing a lot better. Since the AA8XE supports 1066 FSB natively you should have an advantage over those without the capability to do so.

Could you post your settings so we can make some suggestions and hopefully get you more out of that CPU?

Anyone even bother looking at his score?

Your score sounds about right. I dont think your'e bottle necking anything.
What are you expecting to get out of that?

people with same speeds and card are getting around the same.
Hell people with 3700+ AMDs to FX57 speeds are getting in the mid 7000 to high 7000 range.

You're fine. Stop trippin

That's kinda low though. That's barely above what I get with an x850xt

Hyperthreading Or NoT? Your Specs say 1 gig OCZ Is That 2x512 or 1 Gig?

You May Need Too Check You Memory Settings And Turn Off HT If You Have 1 Stick Memory? Just A Thought?

Without More Info Don't Know How To Troubleshoot?

Why would he need to turn off HT? HT is fine.. Just leave it on even with 1 stick, its not a problem. Its definatly the CPU though that gives you those "low scores".

Edit: Buttmud, his cpu is bottlenecking his graphics cards.. Everything bottlenecks a 7800GTX, it just depends on exactly how much slower it is than the gfx card.. A FX-57 at 3.8 cant even take a 7800GTX btw..
