my computer acts like im running a single core 200mhz processor....this happens everytime i install a game, whether it's a big game or small game. this is getting on my nerves because it's like my computer is running on a single core processor with 256mb of ram. this happens on all OS im using (XP, Vista, 7)

and i know for sure i dont have any viruses or things like that.

Could be a few things. Background processes hogging up resources, your master HDD crappin out, a virus, AntiVirus scan, etc. etc.

And if you're installing a game off of a CD/DVD then it could even be your drive. But I'm thinking your HDD is crappin out.

That is a really good idea.

There is tons of things that could be making your pc run slow, reg errors, hdd, and especially since its XP lots of things could be going on, I can't say since I haven't use XP for a long time.

Crashing is one thing but running slow is a whole different story.

i dont think it's my hdd either since vista is on one hdd and 7 is on another (currently dual booting vista with 7) and its hard to believe 2 hdd are crapping out at the same time.

Have you checked your temperatures with Core Temp or HW Monitor?
When I read the post my first thought was the Hdd. My first step would be to check the temperatures and then run a benchmark on the hdd to narrow it down. Since your saying its happening on all of your operating systems the background processes are likely not the problem.

Check your northbridge tems, mine overheats in the summer and causes it to be like a snail.
