Really difference??

Thread Starter
Will there be a difference if a buy extra 256mb Kingston? I now ha 768mb, 512 Kingston, 256mb PQI.

I Play games like Cod2 would I even see the difference between 768mb and 1024mb?

Please fill out your user profile with your computer's specs so that we will be able to help you as best we can. At the moment, we have no idea what is inside your rig, so there's not a whole lot I could tell you, except that more memory is usually a good thing.

please fill out your profile so we know what you are putting it in. you may or may not see much of a performance gain... usually the more RAM you have the better...

you'd probably see more performance if you scrapped what you have and go for a 1gb dual channel kit.

With gaming on current games more RAM is always helpful. With some games it can help to improve frame rates and with others like, for example BF2 upping from 1G to 2G does little for in game performance but improves load times a lot.

You would be better with another 512Mb of the same RAM and drop the 256Mb PQI that is in there.

Well having only the 2 x 512MB running in dual channel, not three seperate DIMM slots.
The 512Mb modules would hopefully share similar performance tolerances and therfore a better overclock on it would be more likely to happen.

Because you already have 1 stick of 512MB, therfore if you drop the 256MB you have room for 2 more 512MB sticks giving you in total a max of 1.5GB. wouldnt you rather have the potential for 1.5GB rather than 1GB with 1x512MB and 2x256MB??

Not aure if you have 2 or 3 slots, the one i looked up have 3 but if you have 2, Xie put it best with 2x512MB in Dual Channel
