what would be the best possible upgrade for me to do during christmas? Lets say I was on a 300 Budget...

and i could sell some current parts in my PC for more money to add onto that budget.

i'd say pick up a 6 or 7 series nVidia card. it'll be a nice boost from that 5900xt. a 6800GS would be a good choice, or a 7800GT if you can afford it.

okay, thats what I was thinking. Either that or, try and jip some local person off by selling this computer off for $1,000. And then putting that $300 to buy a new LCD monitor, and the $1000 to buy a new PC

A 7000 series card is not manufactured in AGP.
Tough call... the $300 gets you close to a good 939 MB and chip... but you would be looking at an AGP MB version and that leaves you with the same level of vid card.
So either a good 6000 series and tie up about 1/2 you cash or back to sell off and start fresh.
