Who All Has A Jasper? - Page 3

I've got a Jasper, and it runs pretty well. A heck lot better than the older '06 models.

Not true. As far as I know no one has ever been banned for that.

I think what he's saying is that it's against TOS should you get caught. If one reads their TOS, it's not as grey as we would like it to appear. While I have 3rd party hdd in both my xbox, I suppose if I were dumb enough to admit to MS that I'm using unofficial hardware to access live according to their terms of agreement...they can ban me for that, as well as for external modifications (if I had any.)

Section 12 clearly states modifications to the xbox right down to unauthorized repairs (by you or anyone other than MS)

The Service may only be accessed with an Authorized Device or by logging into your account via Xbox.com. You agree that you are using only authorized software and hardware to access the Service, that your software and hardware have not been modified in any unauthorized way (e.g., through unauthorized repairs, unauthorized upgrades, or unauthorized downloads), and that we have the right to send data, applications or other content to any software or hardware that you are using to access the Service for the express purpose of detecting an unauthorized modification. Any attempt to disassemble, decompile, create derivative works of, reverse engineer, modify, further sublicense, distribute, or use for other purposes the Service, any game, application, or other content available or accessible through the Service, or any hardware or software associated with the Service or with an original Xbox or Xbox 360 console is strictly prohibited and may result in cancellation of your account and/or your ability to access the Service, and the pursuit of other legal remedies by Microsoft. Microsoft may take any legal action it deems appropriate against users who violate Microsoft's systems or network security, this contract or any additional terms incorporated or referenced in this contract, and such users may also incur criminal or civil liability.

Now, how and whether they find out is a different matter. They aren't banning you for altering your xbox persay, it's just violating Xbox live tos despite exterior changes having no effect to online play.

Yea but I've repaired xbox's for people... and they've never been banned... stuff like Harddrive failures, dvd rom drive failures, and fan mods... none have been banned yet... granted if you were to ask ms to fix it and send it in they would promptly ban you... Its not rocket science... they can tell up to a point...

i can almost guarantee as long as you do the repair job right you won't get banned. I even know people who jmod their xboxs and still haven't gotten banned after like 6 months, which is pretty good.

I have a friend who has repaired/modded almost 200 xboxs and non of them have been banned yet (since 2009)

its also kinda hard to tell because they like to send their bans out in mass amounts, so usually every 6 months or so you hear of like 1 million or so xboxs being banned for this and that.

but hey it's your xbox lol
The Xbox cannot detect case mods. That's like your pc knowing what case your running. Placing fans, LEDs, etc, are not bannable.

Hey, even sticking the whole thing in a PC case is fine.
