Thread Starter
This morning i installed my new video card ATI x800gt 256mb .. and before my cs only set to 60fps .. but somehow once i installed this card my fps jumped up to 100 ( vsync on ). And it is not smooth and fps jumps around between 60 - 90 a lot ... I got the latest driver... so any ideas of how to fix this ? thks

Just leave it with V-Sync on, i find it much better in the long run as you get no frame ripping.

Put your refresh rate to 72hz or a bit higher and you will be fine.

Dont worry about dropping down to a low 60fps lol, if thats the lowest you go thinnk you self lucky thing about people with much worse setups.

negative on leaving VSync on, turn it off if you want high FPS or better pictures, VSync will restrict those resulting crappy performance.

There should be no reason for this. You are running a nice card with plenty of RAM. My computer runs CS very well, even with the lack of RAM, which will make it run way better. CS is very weird about hardware. As for V-sync: leave that off. I never get any ripping. Try turning down the resolution, or grab a copy of HLtoolz for some serious tweaking. Happy gaming!
