Asus Rampage II Gene, is it good quality? how is the OC?
this is a really good mATX board for i7's. I haven't owned one, but i know people that have and have seen the oc potential that this puppy can do If you are looking to go for around this price i would rather advise you to get the foxconn flamingblade, but if you need mATX, then this board is great

The board is a very solid OCer and will get you the same OC as the Rampage II Extreme board. I'm not too sure about the x21 multi with this board. But the R2E can set a x21 multi without wenabling Turbo and SpeedStep, which none of the other ASUS boards do. I would hope the Genie can do the same.

Well its not really a price issue.... I was just wondering cuz I hear these rampage boards are pretty awesome and do not have 350+ to spend on a board..

It's an excellent board, compact, full-featured with a comprehensive BIOS and runs my system at 4.2 GHz with stability. If you're thinking about buying one, also think about bolting on a Xigmatek Porter or Noctua U6 to the Northbridge stock heat-sink, it gets a unacceptably hot if the board is used as-is. I can fully recommend this board.

Good Quality? yes. classic ROG quality with all the bells and whistles, but in a smaller form factor

OCability? very good. the northbridge gets hot but apart from that it's very very capable and lots seem to get 4ghz with ease. as said above me strap a fan to the northbridge and you'll be fine

basically it's a small Rampage II Extreme, and if you don't need the extra ports of an ATX board you will do fine with this one.

here are my favourite reviews of it: summary, don't let it's small size fool you, it's a very capable board.

In my local dealer, they only sell Zalman, Arctic Cooling and Thermalright chipset coolers. Which one should I use to cool the northbridge given this restriction of brands? Which model?
