Yeah it's looking good. For reference my 750 did around 4.5 @ 1.4v on water and hit over 5ghz on LN2 (but it had a CB so close to dice temps anyway) so you might be able to expect somewhere near that. Only one way to find out. thumb.gif

hey Extreme I saw yours on HWBOT and was wondering if you have any pointers for that chip on dice
like messing up the CPU clock skew and Amplitude as well as CPU pll..
It feels like my first time overclocking Intel..I spent with AMD setup for almost 3years.

it's been awhile since i played with an i5 750/760 so had to remember, I will look for some settings that i used for you.
i remember on the evga p55 ftw was tough to get different multipliers to work right.
lemme see what i can find for ya.. thumb.gif

gotta dial in memory and IMC on 1156....since its tied directly to BCLK, which will also limit your max frequency.

what do you mean by dial in memory and IMC? lower the memory once I hit high BCLK?

he means you need to focus on the 'set latency level'... if you cannot push bclk farther, you need to lower latency with IMC, using RAM sub-timings.

A good way to demonstrate with your mobo-

set bclk to 200 with RAM on Auto timings

set bclk to 220 with RAM on Auto timings

... IGNORE the primary timings and look at the last 5-6x timings listed in your BIOS.. you should see them loosen considerably [like moving from 8 ->12]

*If you can keep latency in a range that IMC likes... you can push for more bclk and thus higher IMC speed. CPU core is most likely reached safe limit if your on air/water.. or approaching.

Oh! now I get it...
Thanks CL3P20....dhenzjhen said to ask you for some pointer
I never thought that timing would hinder even you lower your ram speed..
