Bugger.

I did this mod with a filed down 25W but you don't wanna be trying what carl did in his video with a 25W, you'll just scorch the PCB.

Don't rush it dude, take your time.

Lol that video's nuts, so it might not be tinning cause the iron is too hot?

I was going to go:

Copper thread, remove resitor, flux new resistor position, solder resistor.

Not this weekend, LN2 didn't turn up.

Next week.

Wondering whether to do my 5870 3D testing on the BloodRAGE and i7 920 or on the P55 Classified and i7 870.

I think one of the DDR3 channels is dead on the BloodRAGE so there's not much in it. :/

I was going to go:

Copper thread, remove resitor, flux new resistor position, solder resistor.
I would just get a pair of tweezers on the resistor, and quickly jump between each side of the pad with the iron to heat it up and gently pull away the resistor when the solder is hot enough. You can use the copper wire like Carl did to clean up the pads afterwards.

The attach as you wish, copper wire the new pads so they're flat, hold the resistor in place with the tweezers or screwdriver, flux and solder the one side, rinse and repeat the other.

I use a 30w, works fine. never burned anything just steady hand and good soldering iron.

Going to volt mod my 5870 this weekend, if the caps and 50 Ohm VR comes.
