If you are getting some volt resistors get ones with 15 turns or more.
And Dip switches could be nice. Then you can run the board without the mods in work. and it could be easier booting at higher voltage. and just hit the Dip switch when you need Vcore boost and Vdrop.
M next incoming Commando I'll need to solder Vcore voltage read, I missed that last time.

I picked up this 18K fixed VR for 5870 OCP mod.
This one should work well, right?

Oh OK Thanks Kriz, I'll be sure to get a couple 100K trim pot also, in case the 50k doesn't work to well, there could be differences in the boards, maybe.....It would just take a second to change them once the tails are on the board.

Nice one CL!

You should use 100k for V core mod and a 50k for Vdrop. That's most normaly.

The E8700 is getting closer, despatch from Beijing. And my Dewar should be in Norway tomorrow.

I just ordered a 50 bag of the 100k last night, now I need to find some 50k for a good price and I'll grab a sack of them to.

Closer and closer......

How much is Ln2 going to cost you there?

Yup, I think these 100k are 25 turn. The only 50k I saw last night were 12 turn, maybe I can find some higher turn if I look around a little more. The more turns the more accurate they are aren't they? You can really split the electrons with that fine adjustment.

Close, closer and finally closest........Thats great Kriz I'm glad to see your getting lined up on the Ln2, you really need it to take it to that next level. You can start giving Patch a run for the money then!

It's most importiant the 100K VR for Vcore have good amount of turns. Vdrop don't require any fine tuning. But anyway get some 15+ turns, they are great for other mods too.

Yes, they more turns they have, more you can fine tune the voltages. but I've also seen that tuning them to far gives less voltage so a multimeter for monitoring the voltage is really great. My Vcore read didn't want to stick..so I just software monitored the voltages..

Jupp, it's getting closer..But EMS tracking site have been down since yesterday..hopefully they'll get it up again soon.
My GPU pot from kingpin just entered the country today. probably have it in the mail in a couple of days.
I doubt I have the time or money competing with Patch I just overclock because it's fun and try to push as far as I can with my knowledge and hardware.

Go4Life will probably join up for the first run at LN2. Spoke with him today..he didn't stand the tempting 5870 at the local store..so he bought one

I need to get a new meter, I was working on my pump a couple of weeks ago and it was reading my line voltage at 170 volts, should be 110-120vAC....I'll try it on a battery and see if it still reads on DCv.

Thats good, you'll have some help with the pouring and all that, it would have to help. Plus more fun!...

You know we want some pic's when you get all these goodies in hand...
