So close to running ln2... Got everything i need except a mobo right now. And that is scheduled for delivery this coming Tuesday. So hopefully I can get some runs in before the end of march

I thought that some caps were too close to the socket, so added some supplementals on the backside along with a custom "backplate".



Also removed the hold down plate from the socket, thinking I could get better neoprene insulation around the chip.

These measures helped me shave off 15 degrees, but still not close to what I need.

Nice going Patch.. really is a shame things werent going well for you..I'll be running my Celly on my 975x in a while.. [big outta town project next week ].. hoping for some nice results with it though..

If it were easy it wouldn't be as fun. Part of what I like about freezing these Cedar Mills is the modding required for results. And the hardware is cheap.

Not that I'm adverse to "buying" results either. Looking forward to some i7 980x + Lightning 5870 benching over the next few weeks. I'm praying I get a card that'll hit 1400 under LN2.

According to massman 1400 was easy, and every 25mv after that = another 25mhz he hit ovp after 1.575v tho so the card needs a mod for some 1500 action

Inductors and input caps will help OCP from tripping... I pushed OCP another .07v just by adding piggy-backed inductors on my GS... You need some big coils Patch.. I got plenty
