So with the LN2/DI set up you're not really have a direct contact with the cpu, the heat is transferred through a metal and then radiated away from the cpu?

Heat is absorbed by the copper which is approx. -180c then by the ln2.

The CPU always remains at about -180 to -185 on a non cold bugged chip. What patch was saying is that there are certain components on the board that dont like the cold at all. Like some of the capacitors for the mobo might not be solid. Or the SB might coldbug at -80c.

LN2 is dielectric, so there would be no electrical damage done to the board by shorting things out.

Specifically, many non solid-state capacitors will simply explode!
Your battery will also explode, as it has water in it, and the water will expand as it freezes (you do not normally experience trouble having batteries below O*C, as they contain a large amount of solutes, which depress the freezing point, however -180*C /~ 90K would do it

lol you dont even need mounting hardware.

I run my pot just sitting on top of the CPU, because its too big for the holes. its a really massive pot though so the weight alone really helps.

also, it basically freezes to the CPU, and takes quite a bit of man handling to get off while its cold.

hust plopping it on there should be perfectly fine IMO.

Yeah but redhats pot is made of tin foil, he needs the mount

2 pieces of acrylic do the job, I done the same for my phase because I couldn't stomach paying £40 for a piece of metal that has no flex :/

What do you guys do to fight off any condensation to any of the other components surround the cpu?
