I'll explain this one last time; the interwebs are in a flurry about mw2. Some people feel betrayed by IW, and the people who bought have been spending so much time and energy telling us we're wrong and it's the greatest game ever. My point is: If the game is so great why don't you go play it and stop wasting your breath here.

I didn't say you should play it 24/7, but if you have so much free time (not you specificly) to be constantly posting how great it is, you are obviously not that into the game, otherwise you won't be wasting you free computer time here but instead play the game.

Btw love the threats... "Don't be mean to me or I'll get ya banned!" How dare I have an opinion.
Big difference between stating your opinion and telling people they are losers and idiots.

Also, yes, I see the point you're trying to make, yet it still makes no logical sense. You are telling me that if I have free time and am currently using the computer, I must play the game if I am into it? And if I don't play the game then I obviously am not that into the game?

I like the game. It's fun, but I don't have to sit here playing it every moment that I can. It's a great game, and I've put more hours into it than I have any of my Steam games recently, and probably more than most of them. I like the game a lot, but that doesn't mean I have to always be playing it. Sometimes I don't feel like playing a game. I told you before that I am currently doing something else while I'm browsing the internet. None of my actions mean that the game isn't that good or that I'm not that into it because I love the game, I just simply do not feel like playing a game and am currently doing other things.

It still doesn't mean I should be spending my time playing it constantly just because I like it.

Regardless, I'm done with this discussion now since I don't see you ever acknowledging this since you have it in your head that it's impossible for someone to do anything other than play a game if they like it.

I can defend anything I want to in my free time. Doesn't mean I have to be spending all my free time with it.
Even the games I love the most, like Resident Evil, wear out after playing it oh so much continually.

Clearly, you're the kind of person who gets a game and locks himself in a room for weeks at a time. If not, then welcome to the hypocrite corner.

Quote:
Not that that was exactly my point... but if you are defending MW2 here, and than telling us the reason you're not playing it is because you have a life, then you are saying that defending MW2 is your life. I think you should read before you respond, because that response was epic in it's oopsieffedup-ness.
That is the dumbest logic I've ever seen/heard/read.
Read your own post, if you're even capable of reading.

But since you are defending it in a forum instead of playing it that obviously means that it must suck
Um no. You must be in the same boat as Chimera who buys a game and locks yourself up for weeks at a time playing it. If that is not true, welcome to the hypocrite corner.

Just because you don't play a game every breathing second of your life doesn't mean it sucks.
Unless that is your definition of a game. Which would be sad and makes me wonder why you're posting on a internet forum instead of playing a game.

otherwise that dominatrix would be forcing you to play the game 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
what?

Quote:
See, I understand what you are saying Mr. Troll
So, do you like a game? Any game at all whether it be something like Counterstrike or non-videogame like I Spy or Hide n Seek?
Why are you currently sitting here posting on OCN and not playing that game instead?

EDIT:
Bah - if that was sarcasm my bad kyle. But I'll leave the post intact because it supports my first part.

This thread has run way past it's course I believe. If you agree then please report it to be closed like I did so it's one less thread to have to constantly see pop up in News anymore.

I'm sure another thread like it will just pop up which will end up just like this one.

It's pretty dumb how enjoying and game and defending it means I cannot do anything else in my life at all.

Again, just to be clear and hope you get this acknowledged:

A game being good and fun and enjoyable does not mean it needs to be played all the time. Maybe some people are different, but I've played MW2 more than any game in months, and I've not point anywhere near the time that others have, but it's still really fun. It still doesn't mean I should be spending my time playing it constantly just because I like it.

Regardless, I'm done with this discussion now since I don't see you ever acknowledging this since you have it in your head that it's impossible for someone to do anything other than play a game if they like it.
You sure like to burn strawmen don't you? I never called any one an idiot. And again, I wasn't talking about you specifically. One thing you are no doubt aware of is that average MW2 player is 16-22 years old, has a lot of free time, and often spends much of their time playing games. When they get a game that they really love they are not very likely to spend hours defending it in the forums a week after the game came out. A month later sure, but only a week after launch, no chance.

And these are the people defending it on the by and large. If they are in front of their computer, and they really really liked this game, they most likely would be playing it. But thank you for becoming incredibly offended by an off the cuff comment and burning strawmen.

On a more serious note, I am glad that you enjoy mw2.

If I got a game that a really enjoyed with in the last week, I would likely be spending most of my computer time playing it, don't even try to pretend like you don't do the same. I am not saying I shut down my life and 24/7 game, but my limited free time would most likely be spent only playing that game if it were really amazing. You saying you would do differently? Like you would make time to spend hours posting on ocn.... yeah really?

But I also got Borderlands on Thursday and love it, puts FPS(which I love) with a type of WoW(which I used to love) together.

I have played it maybe 3 hours a day since I got it. I was at home all day today with the option of just playing it, but I played it for about 3 hours then I watched a few foodball games then I went and got an oil change then I came home and finished the Georgia Ken game then came to my girls house and at 3:30am started trolling forums with you.

I really enjoy borderlands and have the option to play it for hours on end on the weekends, but don't so that kind of puts a hole in your theory. However, I do fall outside of your age limit for game-o-holics.
Actually you might be more like me than you would guess. My point was never that any one should spend 5-8 hours a day playing it. Obviously people will do other things. But being on the internet and posting about a game, 5 or 6 days after it came out, and talking about how it's like a sensual favor from God, doesn't make sense. Your still spending your time in a way that relates to the game. That was my argument, and I stand by it. When haters bashed on Mass Effect, Gear of War2, Halo etc, there were not hundreds of forum posts about it. All the people that liked the game were too busy playing it.

Also like I said before, most people who play games like mw2, not all but most, will generally game in blocks were the spend a few hours playing and then do something totally different, spending hours responding to posts in not something totally different. Watching a football game, going for a walk, saying hi to the misses is. This is how the young modern gamer works, and this is the majority of the market. And again, the game just came out. I say it's most likely a decent game, but it is not an hj from God, as many of the seemingly bored forum dwellers might like me to think.

If it's so good, enjoy it and stop letting people like me waste your time and spoil your fun right?

No really it was you. Ever noticed how the people who always try to tell others they are being illogical, don't actually know anything about logic? People who have studied logic will often refrain from telling others they are being illogical, and instead try to show them.

Someone who has 19k posts on OCN in two years shouldn't be trying to tell others they are nerd/losers because they game hard. Know what I mean? I stand by the comment in your rep though. You're very entertaining sir. Wish I could give you more rep, but the damn mods won't let me

Hmm, they say 'Huge PC Success' however I doubt it was as much as a success that CoD4. The Single Player is pretty good and so is the multiplayer, which all in all makes it a good game.

Howeverr, IWnet and matchmaking absolutely blows. Countless times have joined a game only to get:

"unable to connect to host" - So why put match me with that game?

Stupid amounts on lag in a server that everyone is getting. I mean, freezing every 1-2 seconds and jumping around the map. IWnet clearly didn't do a good job of finding the best host.

Putting me in a server where I lag like hell because the host is in the USA

If I can get into a game with a stable connection, no lag, no ping spikes so I can have a decent game, its great fun online. The ONLY thing I can see letting this game down is IWnet/ no dedicated servers for mods etc and no lean.

Apart from that it is actually a very good game
