Asetek Waterchill KT03-L20

Hey guys.

I'm a total n00b to Water Cooling so I thought it would be good to start off with a basic kit. I've been offered an Asetek Waterchill KT03-L20 kit for £45 which is around $80 I think it's brand new and un-used.

I have a few questions about it:

Is it easy to set up?
How do I know when there's enough fluid in the system?
What's the best fluid to use, blue is best to go with by blue PC theme.

I think that's it.
Cheers for any help.

Spec is in my sig if you need it.

I dont know anything about that particular kit, but:

1. it should be simple to set up as long as you follow instructions
2. If the system comes with a resevior just fill it up as much as you can
3. the best fluid to use is a mixture of distilled water and anti-freeze if you want to add UV reactant fluid to it you could, if you can find some in the UK.

Yes I have a modified one running on my Xp3000+ rig with a 9800pro and it works a treat.

What radiator comes with it ?
Have you seen the CPU waterblock ?
Does it come with a VGA waterblock ?
It is the AC voltage pump with the controller module attached, yes ?
It is with the res tank and pump connected, yes ?

They are a good watercooling setup as far as kit form goes, eventhough alot will say go get custom. I have it and it works and works well.

cheers..and be happy not mad !

Another question for you...

Why should I use Anti-Freeze?
What mixture should I use? 75% water 25% Anti-Freeze?

Thanks again.

I think I'd stay away from that kit man. Is that one block and two pumps? Also, that radiator is very small and so is the tubing. From what I can see it looks like maybe 1/4 inch tubing and a single 80mm radiator? That fan they give doesnt look very very either. If you ARE getting this then I would use only one pump as you definately dont need both, and two will just add extra un-needed heat. Also get yourself two stron 80mm fans and put one on each side of the radiator blowing in the same direction so that you get all you can from that small rad. I definately wouldnt add more than maybe two blocks to that either.

For the mixture, you can use either antifreeze or a additive like zerex. You use distilled water too, not regular tap water or spring water. Use a mixture of 95% water and 5% additive. You only need a tiny bit to help thermal transfer a little and keep algae/corrosion down. Using more than that will start to work against you temperature wise.

I just got this through the post today. Set it all up on my table so that I could put the fluid in it. Did that all okay then I found this:

Attachment 16978

The bit with a red square around it...What the hell do I connect that to?

Okay This is almost the same as my setup.

The control box consist's of a relay to switch the AC voltage to the pump and the connectors.
A header connection for the fan on the radiator.
Also you have a jumper on the white connector that will enable you to switch either 7 or 12v to the fan.

Okay first off connect the white 2pin plugs to gether.
Then connect the AC power plug to the unit via the hemaphrodite plug (if it has this).
Connect the fan plug to the header.
Select if you want lo or high radiator fan speed ( 7v or 12v )

edit :I notice the 2pin plugs are black not white.

Here's a picture of the actual one....
Attachment 16979

I'm guessing number 1 is for the RAD fan.

No idea on the rest, sorry.
