...with evega cards and windows 7 it can display GPU temps in game. I have my gpu temp displayed at the top right corner of my screen in like 8 or 10 font. Its really small so it does';t get in the way but big enough where i can read it. I don't have to minimize or anything. When i get home i will take and post a SS of it.

Using the same model or different, will make any difference?
I was looking to buy one exactly the same model but I found one slightly cheaper.

Its would be better to buy one exactly like mine to keep the same resolution and dimensions?

both of my screens are ''samsung syncmaster'' units but the codes dont match..... as you can see in the pic my screens are not level b/c of the sound amp under the primary panel, so having matching dimensions is not really relevant to me as the screens would of been offset anyway...

but if you can matching screens look alot better (aesthetically )

If you can get the same model for your second screen, definitely do it. My 20 inch I got from a friend because he got it with his pc and he already had a TV to use, so I bought it from him and it kinda frustrates me because my 24 is a Sceptre and the 20 is an Asus and the color is a bit different and it bugs me a bit because I can't get them the exact same.

No, he doesn't need something like what Max Orbital or Crystalfontz sells, but they are one way to accomplish what he said he wanted to do.

OP:
As for a second monitor slowing down the first, yes it will if you run both monitors off the same dual output video card. If you install a separate video card you also have to make sure that it's driver will coexist with the driver for the other video card. Some brands (Nvidia. ATI, 3DFX, etc) and some releases of the same brand of video drivers won't run together.

As for monitoring software, have a look at HWMonitor.
Or just use one of the Sidebar Gadgets

I believe that depends on what game, not what monitoring software.

Sorry, I don't game so I can't test.

Interesting thread (again).
I'm in the camp that says that if you can't hear it it isn't there.
