Bios question K8N

Thread Starter
Hey, i'me very new to overclocking and am beginning to understand it
But my question is: I have a Asus K8N mobo (nforce 3 250gb) and don't understand how to change CPU/MEMORY RATIO in the bios.

Hey... maybe I've got it. Is it the HTT ratio?

There should be an option in your memory/Dram section called something like memclock. It will have a speed eg. 200/180/166 etc or else I presume it will be in a ratio format eg 5/6th, 9/10th, 1/2 etc.

Yes, I can choose from 200, 266, 333 and 400 mhz. What should I choose?

You have to figure that out depending on your RAM's ability...
Drop down to 333 and test with memtest86, if it's a no go drop down another step... Use the highest stable speed you can

Since u've 3 sticks, ur RAM would already be running at only 333 MHz. So don't change the RAM settings as of now. Also u'll have to lock the AGP/PCI bus. Look for the AGP/PCI Frequency under the Advanced options and fix the AGP at 66.66 and PCI at 33.33. This is very important when u OC.

Nope i have only 2.

I've overclocked my PC,mobo and memory with the Ultimate guide. But i can only choos 266 now, becouse it freezes if I choose higher. What should I do?

Try removing the 256MB stick and see if the problem still persists.

How the f*ck do you do that? Overclocking till 2.6 (we've allmost got the same specs)
Maybe your Memory is slowing you down, at least mine is. It's slower then my mobo and Processor thats why I can't get a higher FSB then 259

@STE won't it be slower then?

It's just to see whether the mismatched memory might be a problem
