Serious Sam 2

Thread Starter
I've been having problems running this game on my computer. It seems like each time that I play, after a certain amount of time the game would freeze on me. I have no clue why this problem keeps occuring all I know is that it only started doing this once I installed my new graphics card. (Nvidia Geforce 6800 XT 128 MB PCIe)

Does any one have any ideas how I could fix this problem?

Try this one

But first read the procedure described here to correctly uninstall your existing Nvidia drivers.

Ok, I just uninstalled my existing Nvidia drivers and restart my computer and re-installed the driver that you showed me,
yet... the problem still exists with Serious Sam 2. It just freezes right in the middle of game play. I think the problem may be from my something else but I don't know. I read some where that AMD dual processor may cause the game stuttering during gameplay, but would it cause the game to just freeze?

I doubt a dual processor could be the cause of this.
Perhaps the game needs a patch or something of the kind.
On the other hand freezing can sometimes be due to bad ram but I'm only speculating as I have never played this game and I don't know what its requirements are (both graphical and cpu/ram wise).
Try to run it on 1 GB if you have 3x512MB. Remove one 512 module at a time and keep the other two and check if the game freezes during gameplay.

See thats the thing, I downloaded the retail patch for the game and it actually stopped the stuttering with the sound and video but it still freezes after a certain time of gaming. The game minimum requirements are:
OS:Windows 2000 or Windows XP
CPU: 1.5 Ghz AMD Athlon XP or Intel Pentium M, or 2 Ghz Pentium 4
RAM: 256 MB
Graphics: DirectX 8.0/8.1 compliant or low end, DirectX 9.0 3D accelerator
The requirements are really not that high and I know my computer meets the requirements, yet the game still freezes when I take out my 1GB stick or my 512MB stick of RAM.
