Can you Overclock a Geforce MX 440?

post #1 of 21

I haven't tried, because Im new to the overclock business, and first successfully overclocked my computer last night ~ 12am. So I was wondering how to start off overclocking the videocard, I tried reading some FAQ's but it was confusing and was looking for some easy help! Is this card too crappy or is it overclockable, just a tad? BTW: Have to use AGP 4x, thanks to my gimpy mobo.

You can overclock any card. To overclock that card, you need a program such as RivaTuner, ATI Tool, or Coolbits 2. I personally use RivaTuner (download it from guru3d.com) and manually adjust the clock speeds and testing them if they pass. Once you see artifacts in games then you will know you need to lower the clock speeds. Have fun!

That helps a ton, but when I went to the site their's about 500 results to the search of rivatuner -- can you help me find the right one I need? (You definentally deserve rep for this)

PCB= Printed circuit board

The PCB is the board on your card where all of the chips/capacitors/tracer lines are layed out. Printed circuit boards come in two main size's ATX and NLX. ATX based PCB's are a regular rectangular shape. NLX based PCB's are retangular but have a gap at the bottom which is reserved for a bracket. NLX PCB's are used in computers where space is at a minimum for example a laptop.

The green on your card in that picture above is known as the PCB.
