Is the only difference between those cards that the TOP version is overclocked, or is the architectural structure difference on the TOP version?

There are no architectural differences between the Asus N7800GTX and Extreme N7800GTX TOP. Both have 24 pixel pipelines and 8 vertex shaders G70/110 nm/302 million transistor count. The N7800GTX TOP comes factory overclocked. Asus are supposedly hand picking the GPU's and fastest memory chips which are used on the N7800GTX TOP version capable of handling high overclocks. Which is where we get to the name TOP (Top Overclocking Performance)
