Logitech G5 flicking over to the left/top left of screen periodically

What gives? Happens at random intervals, only when I am on the desktop, not in games.

Make sure there is no junk in the hole where the lens is. Also, have you installed any drivers for it?

Try installing the drivers for your mouse. Also make sure you use a nice flat surface like a mouse pad. If that doesn't work, use the mouse on another system. If it does the same thing the mouse is defective. Logitech has an amazing way of handling defective products if you talk to them. They will ask you for the number on your mouse then ship you a new one free.

If none of this helps then it is another problem with your computer. It could possibly be USB drivers or some sort of conflicting software.

This happened to me on my 3 month old G9x about a week ago. It might be a Windows 7 issue.

I resolved it by cleaning my mouse pad, making sure the lazer wasn't dirty, and reconnecting the mouse.

I'm pretty sure it was the disconnecting and reconnecting that did it, my stuff wasn't dirty.

I would say just contact Logitech (provide your PID number) and explain your problem and you should a get a new G500.

The ratpadz does wear out. Have you tried on a different surface.
