They tested on an i7 920 which pushes more than 250W of heat!

With 100% BOINC load on 8 threads running 4.2GHz with 1.2875V.

The temperature on the cpu dies are inacurate close to 0C but they were hovering between -9C and 15C. So it was probably lower than that with the copper head being at -53C.

I may have been wrong about this unit. I was just told by OCZ that there's no warranty whatsoever on this product.

Here's the dialog...just in case they decided to delete it. I will keep everyone up to date on this. If there's a correction, I will also correct it here. If they confirm the lack of warranty, I will be a post whore on every board that mentions the ocz cryo unit spreading the correct information.

If you bought the unit from a retailer may want to check with them.
Wait a minute...I thought this was for the refurbished units no warranty and that the regular units came with a one year warranty. Many manufacturers will sell refurbished items with no warranty but no one in their right mind would purchase an item from a retailer with non warranty. This is why I bought it from a retailer, instead of purchasign a refurbished item from you for $200 less.

I think you should speak to a supervisor and clarify the lack of warranty.

One of your own people even said there's a warranty. A certain eryder@ocztechnology.com stated on 04-09-2008 at 07:12 PM http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=183901 that there's a one year warranty on the product. I don't want to have to correct about 17 boards with the updated information that the warranty stated by eryder@ocztechnology was blatantly false and was lied to by OCZ.

Here's an example of a board spreading the info that there's a one year warranty just 2 days after eryder@ocztechnology.com stated it on xtremesystems.com

Your manual even mentions a warranty.
"In no event shall OCZ Technology be liable for any damage arising, directly or
indirectly, from the use of the information contained in this manual including
damages arising from inaccuracies, omissions or errors, nor shall OCZ
Technology be liable for any damage arising directly or indirectly from the use
of the Cryo-Z unit beyond the warranty of the Cryo-Z unit proper."

What does "beyond the warranty of the cryo-z unit proper" mean then?

I seem to remember when this first came on the market there was a rush of people saying they were going to order and the an equal rush of dismayed peeps saying it was collection only as far as I know it always has been. The problem with the warranty also hasn't changed thats why this unit just did not take off for a while obviously with skinee's lab review it is all coming around again.....
