Removing laptop Hard Drive, how?

Thread Starter
My friend needs to backup her laptop before sending it to the company to repair. They are going to do a fresh install. However her problem is that she can't turn it on because the power supply is bad. I would like to remove the hard drive to back it up. Any suggestions? I have never attempted this before.

Well, my HP laptop was a real ***** to open up, it had something along the lines of 60 screws and on top of that it was all glued together LOL! Other than that, you should just be able to rip out that HDD and plug it into your computer's SATA/PATA ports. Also, many laptops (like mine) have easy access to the hard drives and RAM so that you only remove a small portion of the bottom to get at them and don't have to rip the laptop apart so be sure to look for those prior to tearing the whole thing apart lol.
