Comcast not as stated?? - Page 4

in your invoice (i.e. your bill) is the spped your paying in a little "b" or in a big "B"? because if it's the little "b", then you're getting what you're paying for (bits). i've never seen a ISP rate their speeds in BYTES (i.e. big "b").

I have talked to 2 online representatives and both of them say 1megabyte. Plus I was just downloading something without my router and it started at 8megabytes and went down to 120kilobytes within 10-15 seconds.

I figured it out, sorry guys.
Comcast was saying that my line was 1 Mbps, but said 1 megabyte.
They know nothing.
This sucks.

I would recommend you read the advice and comments being given to you. This is not Comcast's fault. They are providing the correct service and I have a feeling you also may be getting a small boost if you have "turbo" or whatever comcast calls it. Several members told you that your speed was fine, yet you dismissed them saying they were wrong.

Stumped put it quite clearly, always remember conversions.

This is the point he was trying to make.

1000 megabits divided by 8 bits is 125 kilobYTES

(I think)

Doesn't matter, OP should still be getting significantly more than he currently is. I think the lowest package they sell is 6\\768 (750kb\\s down, 80kb\\s up), and their current mainstream package is 12\\2 (1.54MB\\s down 260 up).

Edit: Oh ***, they sell 1mbps service????? Since when?

I pay $42\\mo for 12\\2 from them....
