5770 Aftermarket Cooler - Page 13

I know you don't want to hear this... but I say a cooler is not worth it... I had my 5770 running at 1002/1420MHz with no problems @ 1.225v.

Why not spend the extra money and crossfire? That's where you will see a bigger performance gain, over higher clocks... Just my 2c

Don't have the cards anymore, because I wasn't happy with the BS flickering in BC2..and low minimum frames... but I hope you will be happy with your 5770 (best-bang-for-buck IMO)

I already have crossfire. I just don't like my cards going well into the 70s and getting really loud

I switched the Thermal Paste on my XFX cards and they both hit 64°C when gaming and 74°C in Furmark. The fan speed is at 65% and it's really annoying I should of got 2 MSI Hawks

I got XFX because they were $60 each. Mine can go into the low 80's when gaming. I have the non-reference V1 cooler. The one that looks like the batmobile but is cut down

And I just bought the L2 Pro's. I can't wait

I just hate how they are so ugly :/

It did not cool well since it was on the 5850, just wanted to see how it looked.... it looked pretty sharp. It is nearly silent at full speed. It has a fantastic 92mm fan on it It should handle your 5770s pretty well.

Here's a pic for the lulz.

I'd like to see a copper core with at least 2 heatpipes and a lower profile. If they could fit that and the sweet fan into two pcie slots then we'd really be talking

I hope it cools better. Thanks for the picture. They definitely do look better than I thought they would but I agree, some heatpipes and copper would go a long way. My 4890 had Scythe Mushashi but unfortunately that doesn't fit.
I haven't tested the Musashi, but the same person that claimed to have fit a Accelero onto a Hawk, said the same problems exist for the Musashi. Simply trimming the spacers.

I can't confirm it as I don't have one. But I can attest to the Acellero S1 Rev.2 fitment w/ mods. It is a monstrous cooler though.

Good luck on the L2 Pro's,let us know how they work out.

The Musahsi would work if the core on the 5770 was further back on the PCB. It just interferes with the "display out" area.

but I will make sure to update with the L2 Pros when they come
post #129 of 204
My L2 pro's came in the mail and I plan to install them today if I can or maybe tomorrow. Right now as I wait for AAA to come and jump my car I'm doing furmark to do a comparison of before and after. After 15 minutes of furmark I'm at a temp of 83c and 94c for my two GPU's and I don't think it will go much higher. Idle is about 54c and ambient is about 25.5c. The 5770 fans are set at auto speed and I have all of my case fans running at full speed.
I installed them with OCZ Freeze and I'm idling at 56c and stopped furmark after less than a minute when it hit 90c. I think I may have to reseat them. I definitely did something wrong
