5770 Aftermarket Cooler - Page 14

I managed to fit the scythe cooler onto my card but my card is a non-reference model and uses the smaller pcb, its a single slot model and didn't require any mods to fit.
The cooler is massive and the card barely fits in my case anymore but the temperatures are great

My 5770 vapo-x is crap, can't hit 1ghz on factory cooler. Hell 975 @ 1.35v with 100% fan is hit or miss. I can do 925 @ 1.15 or something IIRC though, I might be able to live with that. My PCS+ is even worse. Apparently it runs 1.2v stock, but is non adjustable. Even 900mhz (875 factory) crashes during loop 2 of Crysis bench. I went to reseat the cooler and realized that there is hardly any pressure with the factory mount. You can twist the heatsink back and forth. Any cheap solutions that fit reference cards? Does the L2 Pro mount solidly?

I'm really sick of these horrible clocks.

L2 pro is good, but not in crossfire.

It can't get enough air in CF, but it works quite well with just one.

My stock cooling and stock voltage got it to 975. That's strange because I thought VaporX were supposed to be awesome

No, it's an inferior cooler to the V2 orb one. Contagion tested both. That and my card is just a crappy overclocker. I have awful luck with ATI cards.

Musashi does not fit. It's been said a dozen times. You have to have a non reference pcb with the dvi ports side to side

Thermalright V2 says it fits and its been confirmed elsewhere - but is anyone actually using this?

One review here looks good HERE - but after that i ain't found alot of info

Ignore the outdated list... A HD5770 has 43mm mounting hole and the cooler I pointed out supports 43mm, 53mm and 63mm so on. It should not interfer with the twin DVI connector if using reference card by removing the fan shroud. Hook it up to an external fan controller and it should be good to go.
