Okay so.. I've read this thread a few times but I'm still not sure what to do.. Here's the case:

I need to get my 5770 cooler, I have the reference model with the GPU close to the DVI ports. I'd need a solution which would work in CF aswell since I need to do the same to my brothers 5770's. From what I've read, none of the coolers from arctic cooling works for CF nor for single 5770 if it's the reference except a few which doesn't seem to get good reviews really.. So any help? =/

Accelero S1 rev.2 would seem to be great but surprise, doesn't fit the reference model.

Guys, my HD 5770 vapor-X got 85c during playing games (even 90c when playing Tropico 3) and idle at 42c (stock setting & auto fan) the fan never hit above 55%, is it normal or theres something wrong with the cooler.

Thanks for the suggestion, i will try replacing the TIM.
I' am looking after market GPU cooler for the vapor-x. Someone suggested to use GELID ICY VISION and i see that u using one of this do you think it will be fit on 5770 vapor-x and have better cooling?
What about Prolimatech MK-13 or Zalman ZM VF 3000A ?

Btw, take a look at the siggy. For further info...

The Accellero may fit the reference models too with slight mods. But consider yourself warned....with aftermarket fans, you need to give them a little assistance so you don't warp the pcb.

Replace the TIM???? Why not running the fan @100% when you game to keep the card cool? You need to have a fan(s) next to the card to exhaust the hot air away from the card so it can pull in cool air. Poor airflow around a vapor-x will drive the temps up really fast.

gelid won't work. Most coolers won't work. The card wasn't designed with aftermarket cooling in mind.

The only one that I know for sure works on a reference 5770 (i know yours isn't reference) is the Accelero L2 pro

This is what i found in a Newegg review;
  • darkling23
  • 6/17/2010 10:43:01 PM
  • Tech Level: 5/5
  • Ownership: 3/5
  • Verified Owner
Rating: 5/5This card is great!

Pros: Fast and cool. Replaced the cooler it comes with with my old Zalman VF900-Cu and I've increased my framerates in everything immensely while keeping my PC practically silent.

I haven't used an ATI card since my old Radeon 9600, and I was very pleased with how the Catalyst drivers don't such quite as much as they used to. I haven't hit any snags yet even though I think the driver interface layout could be clearer, it took me about 10 minutes to find overscan options so my HDMI monitor would work.
Cons: None other than the fact that it made me realize my framerates in Valve games were mostly CPU limited and thus made me want to keep upgrading.

And he is referring to this card;http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161317

And I'm going to buy the Zalman VF900-Cu Cooler;http://zalman.co.kr/eng/product/Prod...ad.asp?Idx=144

And put them on this(My cards);http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...000101&pid=296

I will let you all know how it fits and the clearances.
