No thanks I think the GT might be too wide for the 5770 mounting holes. The zalman vf2000 looks like it might fit, but who knows how well that thing cools.

Don't have the cash for a second water loop right now (and if I did, buying a second 5770 would be a much more appealing idea) so I picked up a zalman vf1000 used/cheap. It has more mounting holes than I could ever imagine existing so there has to be some way to mount it. I figure at a 380g copper cooler with 4 heatpipes HAS to be better than this intel stock heatsink... I mean vapor-x cooler.

1ghz+ and obscene vgpu here I come!

Update:

The Zalman VF100 DOES NOT fit a reference PCB 5770. The block that houses the DVI connectors blocks it.

Hey guys , still baring the heat from these two 5770's i have.

If you haven't spotted these yet , give it a look.

Will probably order 2 sets tonight and will post update when everything is installed...

**Update** Actually i'll make a how-to video on youtube.
I don't know about you guys , but my cards at 100% sound like theres tiny little chinook choppers taking off inside my case. So i'll be sure to make a video to show the sound difference. Right now its just mind blowing how loud and hot they get. Idle at 40c (From what Everest is telling me) But the information is off by about 6-7 degrees. So say 47c idle. 80c to 85c on load. I know my way around my computers , so my case and components are very well cooled. Since it is winter here in Quebec , Canada i sometimes have to open my office window because it gets , what's the words im looking for here..... HOT AS HELL. Even when it is -25 outside i can keep my window wide open , it drops the temps to about 45-55c. Still hot as HELL.

Anywho linkies.

Dang, that's nice! If i was looking for a permanent solution, I'd go with that. But at 45$, to expensive to mod and only be temporary

Nice. I was under the impression that the 5770 chip is located even closer to the DVI ports than the 5850? So I wonder if the modifications will still work... Does anyone have a spare Accelero Twin Turbo and a 5770 to try?

Hey guys, I don't want to come across as a shill, but I do have two Thermalright HR-03 Rev. A coolers that I need to get rid of that will fit the 5770's just fine.

http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_pa...rev_a2_MCL.htm

If anyone is interested, please check out the link in my sig and/or PM me about it. We can work out a good deal, especially for those that might even consider Crossfiring two of these cards together.

(Please don't hate me. It's just hard to sell these coolers in the wake of the bigger HR-03 GTX even though this Rev. A can do just as good of a job. )
