Panaflo U1BX and RPM control question

Thread Starter
Maybe I am confused, and if I am set me straight.

In order to control a fans speed it has to be a PMV?

So if I get the Panaflo U1BX, I cant set it to run lower when temps are lower correct?

I am looking for a CPU fan for my meg that I can use speedfan or something to have it run lower when temps are lower.

Correct, Panaflos aren't equipped with PWM. However you don't need that much power behind the Megahalems, its fins aren't close enough together to warrant anything more than a single good 25mm fan. That said, if you want a good PWM fan, look for the Noiseblocker MultiFrame M12-P - PWM, it's very good.

PWM fans are able to be controlled by the motherboar,d your only option is to get a fan controller.
Yea I should have told you that tidbit of info along with my reply in my guide lardo. You will need a PWM fan. The 4th wire is used for the mobo to talk with the fan and adjust its speed according to CPU temperatures, this is done automatically for you and does not require any aftermarket software.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but speedfan CAN adjust the speed of a 3 pin fan according to temperatures that you set as long as it is plugged into your mobo. Not a big fan of speedfan so I am not to sure how it works in controlling your mobo attached fans.
