Since when does MSI not apply the overclock to both cores? You just check that option in the settings box.

AB fails to OC 3 out of my four GPU's. so i would assume all the time?

what is "that option" you speak of?

Your circumstances might be a bit different, given the massive excess of equipment and money you have

The option is something along the lines of "apply overclock to all cores" or something like that, on the first tab of the settings page (can't check, at work).

I'm starting to wonder now if both my GPU's are actually overclocked, or if it's just one!?

Hi,

taking the opportunity of your message I would like to report that the new (non beta) 2.0 version of MSI AB is available. Actually this is the only version that works in my PC with the latest 10-9a (hotfix) Catalyst drivers.

Also GPU-Z 0.4.6 is available to whoever is interested.

Now, regarding your question and MSI AB. If you start MSI AB > Settings > General Tab and select "Synchronize settings for similar graphics processors" -at least in my case- this does NOT overclock BOTH cores.

The ONLY way (for me at least) to make sure 100% that BOTH cores are properly overclocked is CCC> ATI Overdrive section > Select GPU to configure (select and check both cores from the drop-down menu)

As I have mentioned before MSI AB and CCC are not always cooperating very well. Thats why I overclock BOTH cores through CCC,
and use MSI AB ONLY for :
a) changing the voltage,
b) using the fan profile and
c) monitor the temps/freq/voltage of both cores in my G15 keyboard screen

My opinion is use ATI overdrive for checking the status and setting overclock for BOTH Cores. When I used MSI AB for overclocking I managed to have only one core overclocked according to the monitoring graph of MSI AB, while when I overclocked through CCC, MSI AB and GPU-Z was showing both cores running at the overclocked settings I had selected through CCC.

If there is another setting of MSI AB related to overclock synchronization of all cores I would be more than happy to let me know it.

latest batches of 5970 seems to be very OC'able. Always pay to wait till the initial flawed batch are gone.
BTW, I too find using AB overclocks both volt and Freq on both gpus. I monitor it using the G15 display. So far I get 900/1200 on 1.187mV
