I just purchased a 5970 Sapphire 2GB OC. I sold my 6970 was not happy with it. Had artifacts after 3 weeks of using it across 3 monitors.I will be using this card accross 3 ve278q LED monitors. I will also be IC diamond 7 compound to the card.

Will be going into my new build: i7 2600k, Asus Maximus IV, G Skill 2133, Agility 2 60gb x 2 raid 0 :-D

I've been under the impression that modern graphics cards have DirectX and OpenGL on-chip, meaning neither should have to be installed on the local machine every time you buy a game. But I've noticed games going through Directx installs anyway. What's the deal?

Edit: Never-mind, I found the answer. Apparently all this embedded systems stuff hasn't made its way to the GPUs yet.

I dunno if the hell is that true , but i found a strange "compute for gold" thingy at face book and they wanted to use my Radeon HD 5970 for money ..

have any one tried that or is it just another kind of spam ?

It's basically a disguised Bitcoin GPU client. You're better off running an OpenCL bitcoin miner on your 5970 directly. That's the only thing I even have 5970s for.
