I use the XFX Overvolt Tool that I got free with my Black Edition 5970. But are you sure you cant change the voltages in MSI Afterburner? I can but I would rather use the XFX Overvolt Tool. Also cant you download Sapphire Redline which lets you change the voltages on your card?

Also looking at your volts mine seem just fine. Might try and get higher then 900/1210 though.

I've only seen the voltage change for the core. Every version of Redline I have seen is outdated and having a brand new 5970 I am not rushing to use it

I will have to give XFX tool a go when I get a chance. I have made it up to 1G/1300 stable on a bench just fine but again I didn't like the temps and I needed 1.26v to get there.

Ahh well yeah the XFX Overvolt Tool is simple and easy if you can get your hands on it.

Ok since my thread didnt get really any replies I will post my problem here.

Ok I have tried running the Heaven Benchmark in DX11 will all the timings (Tessellation, Shaders High, AA X8, A 16..ect) But it wont ever load the benchmark. It freezes when the Unigine Logo comes up to load. But when I try everything High in DX10 it works perfectly no problems at all.

Anyone else having any problems with DX11 with the 9.12 Hotfix drivers?
So is anyone else having the same problems with the 9.12 Hotfix drivers?
I'm just making sure my card isn't a DX11 dud.

I have not tried any overclocks or overvolt programs yet but have had no problems using the hotfix drivers and the benchmark set to max settings.

Chucklez, I got this once when I had my 5850 a while back. The settings on your 5970 basically are failing the DX11 to actually run the benchmark. Either it doesn't like the hotfix drivers or the 5970 isn't fast enough to run at those settings....which one do you think it is

Well I have tried it on stock, below stock, and at my overclock. All of them are stable, and all of them didn't work so I have to say it doesn't like the Hotfix drivers or I have a defective card.

I'm going to get the Dirt 2 Benchmark/Demo to see if its just the Heaven Benchmark, I sure hope it is...

LOL, 5970 not fast enough . Shadowclock have you tried reinstalling the hotfix drivers? Like I said I'm using them with my Sapph 5970 OC and it runs just the Heaven bench just fine here with everything maxed out.

My card came with Battleforge and Dirt 2 but I haven't tried them yet, too busy playing Aion to get around to downloading Dirt yet

Ok my card runs DX11 fine (been playing some DiRT 2 ). Is it possible the the Heaven Benchmark got screwed up on install or from the download? Also DiRT 2 ran fine on my 900Core/1200Mem
Overclock so it also isn't my overclock. I'm pretty happy I didn't get a dud 5970 of some kind.

Shadowclock see if this download link works for you. Its the XFX Overvolt tool strait from XFX. Download (You have to have bought the BE 5970 to get the download link)
