Well overclocking your GPU would be the easiest way to get 30K. I would get MSI Afterburner for the overclocking tool, and for stability testing I would get Furmark. If you want help on how to overclock your GPU look here. If you run into any problems post em' up here!

Is anyone here able to use Fraps with crossfire without capturing blank (black) screenshots?

I haven't been able to get it working 100% and here's my final e-mail from the developer.

Thanks for your reply, and I'm sorry to hear that enabling VSync in the video driver properties did not help to resolve this issue. Unfortunately it appears that this problem is related to a bug in the current Catalyst video drivers, so at this time I'm not too sure what else to suggest besides disabling Crossfire support when you want to capture screenshots with Fraps. Hopefully an updated driver is released soon which helps to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your help I can now break 30k, I am waiting to find out if the thermaltake expressar case will fit the 5970s so I can overclock my cpu to over 5ghz.

With phase cooling I dont think it will be an issue. The thermaltake expressar is like having a fridge for your CPU

That will not handle your CPU trust me. I had this discussion and for Phenom II X4's and Core i7's you need custom Phase Change Unit's which are around $600-$800 for good quality ones to get your i7 down to nice temps without burning out the Phase Unit. Believe me if you get that Phase in the Expressar you will probably burn it out and your CPU will shut down do to it overheating.

EDIT: Also your probably not going to hit 5Ghz on your i7, I would aim for maybe 4.5 at most man. i7's produce A LOT of heat when you overclock them. Now a Phenom II on the other hand I can maybe see you hitting 5Ghz just because it has no hyper-threading which is the main reason the i7 is so hot when you overclock it.

I decided to go with a custom water block the heatkiller 3.0 instead of phase cooling. I am stable at 4.4ghz and that seems to be good enough.
