wow! If that's the case then my card runs HOT pegged around 80c for gaming full load with the fan REALLY loud under my settings.

1.125 V
850 Core
1200 Mem clocks

65c MAX you say? I don't see how that is plausible as at stock settings it gets upper 70's benching and this is with the side of the case off.

Fan noise is the thing really holding my back, going to have to wait till I get my set up back to my permanent location and see if where I normally have it under the desk does anything for the noise. As of right now the back of my computer case is kind of near me.

Definitely going to be moving on the AC cooling fan if it has something decent for VRMs or just move to a full water loop later in the summer

While these cards do get hot, 80c is actually fine for GPUs. I have no clue how he got 65c max even with 100% speed fan under intensive stress tests. At 100% fan and 5870 overclocks I had mine to 75c easily during a mild stress test. This of course before I went to water.

Right on thanks for the clarification I was seriously confused. I'm probably going to run stock clocks or at least a mild OC and work the noise to heat ratio to my liking at least until a game can stress the 5970 or until I get good after market cooling.

EDIT:

So I ran some OC and did a Vantage bench and it is looking pretty good

930/1220 - Max temp of 82c with fan @ 100%

24584 - CPU ( i7 920 191x21 ) - shows up as 3.8ghz
29545 - GPU ( Sapphire 5970 )
28126 - Total

Rushed release is rushed...hate when they do that. Finish programming it before you give it out to the masses
