Duckie's right. However, oddly enough, there is no explanation as to why over the past 2-3 days DDR3 has SKYROCKETED. I'd love to see what the temporary deal is regarding this.

Dude, look at the stock NLST, they are a memory chip company and their stock went from 89cents to 6 dollars in a week...probably have something to do with the DRAM price lol

The manufactures probably ordered their DRAMs ahead of time when the price was very high or at the peak, so their cost for the current lot/batch of memory modules are much higher.

I mean even now the price is still HIGH although they are dropping, so it's gonna be a while before the manufactures lower their price.

Hey. Don't know if my post belongs here, but I'll post anyway =)...

I noticed that DDR2 went up too! I bought Corsair 2x2 800's for $46 about 6-7 months ago and now that same pair is $96. Waddup with that?!

I hope the prices go down again because I'd REALLY like another pair.

Happy buying!

I'm pretty sure there are a good amount of stock manipulation in it but the DRAM price certainly helped IMO.

I think they reduced the production of DDR2. Just like how the DDR1 price went up after DDR2 went into mass production
