Windows 7 is blurry

Thread Starter
Well i just installed my new windows 7 home premium 64 bit and i have to say that i like the way it feels but it seems like all of the text and images are blurry to me.I googled it and other people are having this problem and have fixed it but for me none of the fixes work.I have tried clear type, different resolution's,the windows glass effects fix, several different driver builds and nothing fixes it.My monitor is a polaroid 19 inch and i'm using the vga cable to my vid cards which are 2 xfx 5770's.The highest resolution on this monitor is 1440x900(which is what it's set to) but sometimes when i look @ my desktop it seems that it's not actually using that resolution and It even looks like it carries over to my games a bit.

I'm lost and i have no idea what to do about it.

Does the text or images look blurry to any of you?

I may get that monitor from the first image if it's that windows 7 just doesn't like my 1440x900 res.If i forgot anything like other important pc specs let me know but most are in my sig.

Yeh it does.

Check the resolution is right, try turnin on cleartype or whatever its called that smooths the text

Look at the text, its all thin and scraggy.

Wouldn't say its "blurred" though

EDIT: Just noticed you said cleartype. It doesnt look blurred to me, just not smooth text

They look just fine to me. Are you guys that are saying it looks blurry zooming in all the way? Chrome downsized the images for me, making them look blurry, but when I viewed them at 100% zoom, they were perfectly fine.

Yea looks fine to me. You just have to resize the image in firefox or whatever. Browsers tend to downsize the images like the above poster said.

The only other thing I noticed that it looks like some of your effects are turned off such as font smoothing and anti aliasing.

It looks blurry because of 1440x900. Also, I've never seen a Polaroid monitor that was as crisp as a comparable Acer, Samsung, or LG.

I wouldn't sweat it too bad, and it already looks like you're ready to fix the problem with a new monitor =)

Definitely looks like ClearType is turned off. Turn that on and it should fix the "problem" you're seeing.

Right click Desktop> Personalize> Display> Adjust ClearType Text and then check it.
