Help Ocing NB Freq on 965 C3

Thread Starter
Hello everyone at OCN, I am having a lot of trouble ocing my northbridge frequency. My cpu is running at 3.825 ghz at 1.424v in cpu-z, but I am unable to to get my nb freq past 2200. The second I go past 2200 I either freeze before I am able to get into bios or can't boot into windows. I have tried to raise my nb voltage up to 1.3v and still can't boot. Sometimes I have to reset a good amount of times before I can even get into bios. Any help would be appreciated.

here is a link to your MB club they might be able to better help you as these new am3 chip and board combos are quite finicky.

The club is quite new I see so I will try to help you some.
now that you know your CPU max. take that back to stock and see what you can do on the NB. I dont think you should need any more then ~1.35-1.4 to get 2.8Ghz NB speeds.

1.475 is way too much for the new C3's they need much less voltage then the C2's

What are the max safe nb voltage for 24/7 hour overclock.

Personally I would not go over 1.4 I run at 1.35 and 2.8 NB (my chip was handpicked) but you should be able to run about the same. What are the last 5 numbers of your SN?

maybe, the closer to 90000 the closer to the center of the waffer and more likly to be able to achieve higher OC's in general.

Agreed. I am running at 4.0Ghz and in BIOS my CPU-V is set to 1.43, which comes out to 1.41/1.40 after droop.
My CPU NB-VDD is at 1.125. What are you cooling your CPU with?

It will be on the box after SN and also on the warranty paperwork.
Also please tell me you are not cooling with the stock HSF!
