My MOBO just died. I may go PCIx. Any sujestions on a good card . Brand no matter.Just don't want to spend too much money.

how much money do you want to spend though?
If money matters, get the geforce 6800gs from evga or xfx its nearly $200
or you can spend extra 100 to get 7800gt from evga with a free quake 4 hehhehehehe

Well I think I can get 180 for my card, so I may have 300. I just want to have a good card.

try the Connect3d X800 GTO, unlockable to 16 pipes, very overclockable, 170-180 usually its a great deal. if you can tho save up for 7800's i got two of the 512 versions and they chug right along with water cooling
