Which would be a better config?

I think I'm getting Fable for christmas, and I know my computer isn't quite powerful enough to handle the game. So I'm trying to uprgrade for under $100. Should I:
1.Buy a GeForce 6600LE.
2.Buy a GeForce 6200 and 512MB of RAM.
or 3.Invest in more memory and a better CPU and GPU cooler.

I tried Fable and found it way to childish and was greatly disappointed. You might consider renting it to try it before you open the box. That way, if you don't like it, you can return it for a refund or exchange it for something different. To be fair to the game, I played it for 3 hours, but it wasn't fun at all. If you like single player games like that, I STRONGLY suggest you get Dungeon Siege 2. (it's not a bunch of Dungeons btw like Diablo or something, so don't let the title fool you) It's one of the best written games I've ever seen in my life and has tons of surprises as you go. I can't recommend it enough, just be patient with the first hour. I found the beginning somewhat stupid, but it develops quickly into one of the best games I've ever played.

#1 6600LE all the way.
You can clock that CPU up to help with gaming.

Take a look at these:

Added to my current specs, would that be good enough?

You're running Windows XP and have only 256MB of RAM? Hoo-boy, that needs to be your #1 priority. 256MB is barely enough to run WinXP well on basic productivity tasks, forget about gaming performance.

So you're saying I should go for the 512MB of RAM and the 6200?
I would wait till you have more money, then upgrade the cpu, gpu, and add some ram. BTW, you'll prolly enjoy fable more on the xbox anyway.

I will never buy an XBox. Too many sports games and shooters for my liking. I'm an RPG and RTS guy myself. Always loved the Myst series as well. Come to think of it, I was having a fair amount of lag at 800x600 in Myst IV... Uru was also very jerky.

I'm not up to speed on video cards these days, I don't know how much better a 6200 is than your current card. But yes, I think that upgrading your RAM is a must no matter what else you do.
