Rockbox - Ipod Nano 2g

Man Rockbox runs really well on the Ipod Nano 2G, so happy they finally broke the encryption on the Nano 2G. I hope an iPod Linux build for the Nano 2G comes out soon, can't wait to test it out.

Who knew a Nano 2G can play video at its LCD's max resolution at 32 - 35 FPS.

Going to start writing plugins for Rockbox once I'm done coding for our robot.

Lol. I'm still using my 1st Gen, I think it's like stuck to 15-20 fps . Are you able to do an hour length movie because if I try it on mine it lags like crap when I try to control it and the audio desynchs

I watched a 1 hour movie last night, audio was in sync. I'll go see what the data rate was.

52 minutes

176x128 29 FPS

Video Bitrate = 260 kbps
Audio Bitrate = 128 kbps

Frame skipping was enabled

I believe the Nano 2G uses a much more powerful Samsung SoC running at 192 mhz, the use of the Samsung chip was the reason it took 3 years to get custom firmware working (Firmware was encrypted with 128 bit AES).
