Need a good PSU - Page 2

get a DFI board if you want to OC. that asus board can't run a 1T command rate past a htt of about 240, and I'm limited to 1.55v for the cpu... so I can't OC as far as I think I could otherwise.

I'd also stay away from an ultra psu. the x-connects have been known to blow up.

It depends who makes it. Just remember that numbers can lie. Also, why are you buying an SLI motherboard with your Ati video card? Waste of money in my opinion.

I'm not using the ati card, It's AGP. I'm going to sell it. I'm starting to think that I don't need SLI. I'm just tring to get a PCIx board that is rock steady. A good OC'er and that will go with an 7800 GT. I want a good PSU to run said items. maybe an ASUS A8N-E Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra .

Make sure you have 24a or more total on the rail(s) for that 7800 system

Take a look at the MSI Neo4-F. It's about $80 bucks and will OC with the best of 'em.

I've made my suggestion for a very good one at a reasonable price
If you have a budget, perhaps that would help the people give a sound recommendation.

Sorry Duke, didn't mean to step on your toes. I'll go with what you sujested. I just had an opperation a day ago and an on pain meds. My pc is down and I just want to make the right choices. I don't want to order something that does not go with the MOBO. That PSU you sujested is in my price range. Thanks.

He hooked you up. The Nuuo is an extremely good purchase. I still don't understand why they don't charge slightly more. They certainly could and it'd still sell well.
