Cooling Question.

Thread Starter
I have a 3.4 P4 775. I have not overclocked it much because of how hot it runs. I was going to invest in watercooling until my PSU and Video Card took a dump :-(

My processor It is about 65 c with a small load and around 83 high load. This seams pretty high for the chip. I have heard that the 775 can run hot because heatsink is often not installed correctly. What is a good SAFE (longevity) temp for my processor.

I know that is WAY to high. I keep my 775 at 43*C idle and gets to about 53 under heavy gaming load. Check you heatsink, and reseat it if it needs it. Or your temp sensor might be broke. Just my .02.

Like gokhotit said, thats way hot, even for a prescott. You definitely need to get more air over that thing as your stock cooling isnt doing anything right.
