Question.. I just can't seem to break the 3.6 barrier on this Pressy 3.0 C0 proc but in any event I should post some results thus far. My question however pertains to the Stress Prime.

I'm running the Orthos's, SP2004 beta that has dual core support and running both cores @ 100%. Is this legit for a validated OC or do I have to run the 2 instances of older SP2004 to get valid?

Also on the Orthos beta running dual core, 6 hour is min runtime as well just as the previous single core SP2004?

Thanks

Your Pressy should be capable o f much more than that.

As for the Orthos SP question: http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...?t-110563.html

It looks like they are still having issues getting it to function proberly. Might stick with dual SP2004 until they iron out all of Orthos' problems.

Well I can get nearly 4ghz but not stable

Just haven't found the right primer for it all yet.. Maybe soon but I'm going to run Orthos here until the morn and get my 6 hours in and post regardless. We'll see

If I run two instances of Prime95 one for cpu0 and one for cpu1 (to utilise the hyperthreading blah blah) both of them on the blended tests, I get next to 0% pprocessor load, and idle temps....whats up?

I have to run the long, maximum heat test in order to get the pload up one both cpu's?

What tests are most people doing to validate overclocks?

I'm debating how much I might gain (or lose) by relaxing my timings and upping my memory divider. I still have a lot of testing to do... I've only had the system up & running for a few days & managed 3.6GHz dual prime stable for 10 hrs.

Thread Starter
Core 2 Duo is more effected by latency WAIT periods in regards to memory than that of the Intel Netburst architecture.
However it is still based upon a design of the memory sub-system that Netburst was. Therefore bandwidth is far more crucial than memory timings.

I suggest you loosen your timings and boost the memory clock frequency as it will generate much more performance
