Will this damage anything?

I've got a Matrox Millenium G200 AGP 1x/2x card, which I've had for a number of years now. I actually got it for free, used it in my old system, and kept it when I sold parts of the system on eBay to pay for my current one. However, I feel it is now time to sell, so I want to test it to make sure it still works. Will putting this into the 8x AGP slot on my Soyo motherboard be damaging?

The (semi)-complete specs for this are:
Matrox Millenium G200
-manufactured in 1998
-8MB SGRAM with 128-bit memory interface
-250MHz RAMDAC
-Max resolutions: 1900x1440@70Hz or 1920x1200@76Hz
-don't know core/mem speeds

No, you can't. The old flavor of AGP uses a different voltage than the 8X slots do.

Darn, I guess I'll just sell it as-is. If only I still had my DFI and my PII 300...

Burn is probably correct... but, you should check you MB specs to see if it may still accomidate it's voltage requirement. Some boards are backwards compatable to cover most of the AGP standards.

EDIT>>>
Just took a peek at the manual 4x and 8x 1.5v only so BURN was absolutely correct!!!

My manual says that 3.3V AGP cards won't work. Does this mean AGP 2X?

I can confirm what Duke said by quoting my AI7 user manual, it says that 4X/8X use 1.5, and I think 2X uses 3.3, however I'm not sure. You sure can't use a 2X in an 8/4X slot for sure.

Now that it's established that It wont work. Heres my opinion on the actual sale of the product.

Who are you selling that to? Someone local?
If on ebay, don't bother i think. Unless you got blobs of time on your hand.
They're selling for like $8 shipped. now you get 8 bucks, minus ebay fees, minus paypal minus shipping fee.... nothing left but a bottle of pepsi.
Or did i miss something and theres something special about this card?
