Is this bad for my card?

Woulds these fan settings do somthing bad, such as wear out my fan? Since I set the fan to be on 100% after the core temp went above 40c and it idles at about 49-40 and with just firefox and winamp and a few other misc apps it usually is at 42 so most of the time the fan is at 100% spinning. So is that bad, or what settings do you fellow x800xl owners have it set on.

A pic of my fan settngs

I just used atitool to find my max core/mem and before the highest it would take me was 429.30/518.40 and with the settings I set the fans to I got 429.75/546.75, so I got a SLIGHT better oc on the core and a way better oc on the memory.

No it won't hurt anything. I'll attach my fan speed profile.

I think you need more options between the 40-70 degrees C range. Thats where the card's temps will fall most of the time. To leave them all to 100% is highly un-efficient. But if you don't mind the noise, set it to whatever the hell you want!

Nope. The fan is there for that. Maybe in 15 years it will wear out.... But i dunno.
I have a 38 cfm fan from a 1982 machine that has been working full speed, still as quiet as a whisper.

Ohhh, I don't mind noise at ALL plus I can't even hear the gpu fan over my tornado that I run at 100% full speed. I was really impressed with the temp decrease just by messing with the fans. I wonder why my card company didn't do it in the first place. I am really liking ati now just because of ati tool. Last thing though I am running the latest catalyst drivers, now are ati drivers like nvida's in that they have 3rd party drivers that when installed give you better performance, if so can you give me a link to them? Thanks for the help so far guys I really enjoy it.

BTW, Fishie36 what temps are you getting on your card?

Idle is around 35C and load in games is around 55C, while load in artifact scanning is around 63C. I have 3D overlay on so I can see my GPU temp in the corner of the screen while playing. Also that's overclocked to 520/560.

Dang, do the x800xl and the x800xt have same coocler or what do you have cooling your card? Because I get 39c idle (38c idle at night) and 65c with artifact scanning with stock speeds which are 400/490.
