i have tried 7 (which is the same kernel), with the same results. i am doing memtest right now. i don't think there is a problem because I have used two different sets and the same results. both work great in my computer.

In bios press f9 and verify your ram is being recognized correctly, then go into pc health status to check voltages temps. etc..

SYS Temp :20C
CPU Temp: 43C
CPU Volt: 1.376V
3.3V Volt: 3.296V
+12V Volt: 12.355V
DRAM Volt: 1.968V
Chip Volt: 1.164V
+5V Volt: 5.017V
VSB: 3.296V
VBAT: 3.104V

I am running MEMTEST now.

That board is ****. I wouldn't trust it as far as I can throw it. If you can't pinpoint the source of your problems try grabbing a 785 based board.

^ same results. when my board boots, it says "enginerring sample - not for sale" so I think that may be the reason for the bugs. xp is working so far, so I will get it working for now and then return it to tiger direct since this isn't suppose to be sold.

Is there any more info on your IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL? Sometime there's a driver name. Have you check if your CPU cooler is seated right? Your CPU temps seems a bit high to me (shouldn't it be around 30, I may be wrong). Sometime if its badly seated your CPU could get to high 60 real fast. Also, that's surely not this but check your SATA cable, I've seen corrupted data transfer with slack connector and vibrations. Other than that.... get the board RMA'd.

[EDIT] "enginerring sample - not for sale" sounds to me as a evil buggy BIOS. Have you tried to unlock the 550?

i could look. on the page file error is said "ntfs.sys." i think it's a filesystem error maybe.
