Dirt 2 tearing problem - Page 2

look for a .cfg file inside the game folder named settings and see if you can find a setting to 'force' vsync that way. just be sure to make a backup of the file you're about to edit.

i think it is an issue with the catalyst driver version 9.9 and above

i installed the game yesterday and i had driver version 9.9,
wen i started the game i got 3 fps...i was like , wat the fish man, 4850 aint that bad a card

but then i read the readme file, and it said that the game has issues with driver version 9.9 (cos it was the latest at time of its release)
it asked me to rollback to 9.8 or sumthng, i had 9.7,
during rollback my pc hanged.....and then i had a serious issue with installing 9.7( which i wasnt able to do) and even re-installing 9.9
so i had to format my system......then i installed 9.7, and the game runs fine,
with everything maxed and at 1152x864 resolution (yeah, its the max for me)
at 30-45 fps

read the readme urself....u'll see that it has bugs with 8800gtx, 9800gt also

the other way u can b sure u have turned ur vsync on is

go to My Documents\\My Games\\DiRT2\\hardwaresettings

open the hardware_settings_config file

check the vsync value..if it is "1", then leave it, if it is "0", then

click on view, then source

change the vsync value from the file from 0 to 1, save it

and run the game

The framerate isn't capped. I have vsync on and get above 40fps with 16xAA and all settings on high and have no screen tearing. It might be your overclock.
