I Have my dfi sli-dr and i cant remember what color slots to use for the memory? and also what sata ports should i use. Sorry this is my first amd build. Also if there is any other things you guys can let me in on it would be much apreciated. THANKS and Merry Christmas
I use the Yellow slot's, with BIOS 623-3.
Use the normal one's not the RAID one's and connect all 4 of the power cables up to the mobo, the Floppy one under the CPU the ATX one, the P4 one and the Moles near the battery
If you are on stock BIOS use the orange slots. If you have a newer bios (6/23 and above) and are using RAM that requires high voltage use the yellow ones. As for SATA use any port 1 thru 4 at first, then when you instal drivers and such you can use the other SATA ports.
Orange w 623-3 for TCCD and it seems some have better results With Crucial/Micron with that.
Yellow with 623-2 for others like BH and UTT
There is a new BIOS ver out since but I don't have the whats what yet
Lose the cheepo RAM... it will hold back the Redline.
The Redline
1, 623-2 Yellow and you should get a fan on it to cool with the high vdimm it requires.
Well, I would just go with BIOS 623-2 and place the value RAM in the orange slots until you put the Redline in (in the yellow slots) and take out the value RAM (unless you wanna play it safe and use 623-3 until you put the Redline in, but I think that's a big hassle). Also, make sure you set the 4v jumper when you put the Redline in so that they can use the high voltages.
